- About JAMboree -

WHAT; A family run 4-day Music JAM campout at Northern California’s premiere “Beer Farm” just outside of the town of Dixon. Folks – from youth to seniors – bring their acoustic string instruments such as guitar, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, fiddle, Dobro, and acoustic bass, accordion, harmonica, hand percussion and our voices! Other wind instruments (flutes, clarinets, trumpets (w/ mutes), melodicas, etc,…), marimbas, are welcome, too!
Ruhstaller is a working farm that grows its own hops, then brews, and pours a wide variety of beers (all available for purchase) on its 40 + acre spread. Our resident free-range chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, and farm staff, welcome customers with their well-behaved dogs! You read right – responsible dog owners are allowed to bring their dog – on leash – to the Hop Farm!
Overnight accommodations – Many tent camp under the shade of the 30-acre walnut orchard, or stay in a vehicle camper. NOTE; we now have extended vehicle camping – YaY! Vehicle camping is limited to 18 units under 30 feet in length and is reserved on a 1st come, 1st serve basis. Those 18 spaces will go quickly and accompany an additional $100. fee. Register EARLY!!!
Some Jammers prefer a local Airbnb, motel or stay with local family or friends. There are two towns within 10 minutes of the Farm; Dixon and Davis, . If you’re a local resident, you may elect to be a “Day-Tripper” and go home each evening.
WHERE; 6686 Sievers Rd. Dixon, CA 95620 (right off I-80 between Dixon & Davis). The Brewery is open to the public during its regular hours and we’ll have plenty of designated areas for Jamming! Sunday is the gentlest weekend day, attendance-wise. Monday is closed to the general public (we’ll have the entire farm to ourselves) and Tuesday & Wednesday it doesn’t open til 3 pm for a light weekday evening customer base.
HOW; A wide variety of workshops will be held each day. Sessions include instruction on the art of jamming & playing well with others, in addition to songwriting, singing, ukulele, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, and percussion. Mornings will include coffee, tea, and an opt-in potluck breakfast, a morning stretch & vocal wake-up. Afternoons will include more workshops and facilitated jams in different styles. Spontaneous workshops are encouraged. The evening social dinner break will include a different activity each night followed by more jamming by the fire pit and/or any of the campsites spread out in the orchard and around the farm.
FOOD – Breakfast – Enjoy it on your own or, if you choose to be part of The Breakfast Potluck, please bring contributions to share each morning; fresh fruits, bread & pastries, granolas, cold cereals, yogurts, etc,…We will be providing frittatas from Yaya’s kitchen made from our chickens’ fresh eggs!
Lunch & Dinner -There will be a food truck on-site with home-style dishes available for purchase.
BYOB and F – You may want to bring food and beverages of your choice from home… with the exception of alcohol. No outside alcohol from your home is allowed on the farm.
There are flush toilets & drinking water, but no showers. We think 4 days w/out a shower is doable for most folks. Remember, this is a farm…not a campground.
